Edith Agoye blames fatigue for Sunshine Stars draw with Doma United
By Wale Mustapha
Technical Adviser of Sunshine Stars, Edith Agoye has revealed the reason his side missed out on the maximum points following a 0-0 draw with Doma United at the Akure Township Stadium on Wednesday.
The defeat comes just three days after the Owena Whales claimed a positive result in northeast Nigeria, Bauchi, where they forced Wikki Tourists to a 1-1 draw on Sunday  before arriving in Akure for the midweek tie with Doma.
Yusuf Ibrahim had put the home side ahead in the 13th minute before Doma United secured the equaliser through Uzochukwu Ugonna two minutes before the halftime break in the Ondo State capital.
While reflecting on the drab draw, the former Shooting Stars gaffer admitted that the game was difficult for his side owing to the hectic travel fatigue suffered on their journey back from Bauchi.
”It was not an easy game for both sides, considering the fact we took a long journey to Bauchi, a very strenuous one we took another long journey one back, definitely, fatigue was a factor in the game,” Agoye told NigeriaFootball.ng.
“It was a good game, we had an advantage by scoring, but we allowed them to come back into the game straight away, that was the turning point, and we push and push, we had chances, we couldn’t convert.
“But we have to commend the effort of the boys, we didn’t take it today, we redouble our effort and look forward to the next game.”
Sunshine Stars are fifth on the NPFL Group B log with 17 points, while Doma United are sixth with 16 points.
