Edo Queens’ opponent Hasaacas Ladies suffer big loss to Black Princess

Ahead of this month’s West Africa Zone B (WAFU-B) Women’s Champions League qualifiers, Hasaacas Ladies from Ghana tested their might against the national U-17 girls in a friendly match on Saturday.

The Black Princess thrashed Hasaacas Ladies 4-0 in a dominant tune up match. After the game, assistant coach of Hasaacas Ladies, Emmanuel Kwesi Mensah said it was a good test match for his players ahead of the task ahead.

“I think it was a good test for us. We needed hames like this for us to know what we have been working on whether the girls can basically put them to practice,” Mensah told Hasaacas Ladies Media.

“Our game plan was to be very quick in transition, but unfortunately we didn’t do well when it came to taking the game in transition.

“Our opponents were very fast and quicker than us. I think that gave us room to go and work on lots of things.”

He rated his team 5/10 while stating that there are a lot of things to be worked on ahead of their next test game before hitting Cote D’Ivoire for the WAFU-B Women’s Champions League.

“I think our defensive organisation wasn’t the best.” He continued. “Ball progression also did not work well for us. It’s a good test like I said. We need to go and work on it.

“For me if I am scaling, I will give 5/10 but I feel we still have some few days to put pieces together. It might be that our opponents were too big for us in terms of their preparations and very solid. If I am giving 5/10, it means we have a lot of things to work on. I think the girls would catch up.

“We are going to be ready before August 11. We have another friendly to play. Tomorrow we will do recovery and let them know the lapses that we saw today and see if they can actually correct that in our second competitive friendly.” He concluded.

Hasaacas Ladies will open their campaign at the 2024 WAFU-B Women’s Champions League against Omnisports Etincelle (Burkina Faso) on August 11 before facing Edo Queens on August 14 and wrapping up group quest against AS Garde Nationale (Niger Republic) on August 17.
