Enyimba FC has ordered Technical Adviser Stanley Eguma and two members of his backroom staff to step aside with immediate effect following the club’s latest setback in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).
The decision, delivered to Eguma in an official letter, came shortly after an emergency management meeting on Sunday.
The meeting was convened in response to Enyimba’s disappointing matchday 13 defeat to Wikki Tourists at the Enyimba International Stadium in Aba.
Club officials said the action was taken due to “poor and unsatisfactory results,” adding that management has commenced a full review of the team’s declining performances this season.
Eguma’s assistants, Ndubuisi Nduka and Joseph Boma, were also directed to step aside under the same terms.
In the interim, Assistant Coach Lawrence Ukaegbu has been assigned to lead training sessions and prepare the team for its crucial matchday 14 encounter against Katsina United in Jos next Sunday.
Enyimba stated that the suspension will remain in effect “until further notice” as the club examines possible measures to stabilise and revive its campaign.
