Ex-NFF VP Seyi Akinwunmi splashes N1Million on bronze winning Flamingos

The immediate past First Vice President of the Nigeria Football Federation, Barrister Seyi Akinwunmi has donated one million naira to the Flamingos for winning the bronze medal at the FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup in India.
The former NFF Vice President made the donation on Monday following the Flamingos victory over Germany in a pulsating third place game to clinch bronze after beating the European giants 3-2 on penalties.
His donation comes after Super Eagles captain, Ahmed Musa promised to give the team three million naira for making the country proud at the tournament. As the Flamingoes return to Nigeria on Tuesday, more donations are still expected for the girls.
The team broke their quarterfinal jinx after four attempts with a stunning victory against women football powerhouse, USA in the semifinal before losing to Colombia 6-5 on penalties in the semifinal.
The Flamingoes met Germany again, whom they lost 2-1 to at the group stage and fought gallantly to beat the Germans, becoming the second African side to win a medal at the FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup after Ghana.
