‘Fake news’ Midfield man’s agent slams Manchester United transfer links

The agent of Lazio midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic has slammed rumours linking his player with a move to Manchester United as ‘great fake news’ to Italian press.

Milinkovic-Savic has been enjoying another stellar season in Italy’s capital, with 10 goals and 11 assists in 34 appearances as he has helped his side into sixth place in Serie A with three games to play.

His performances have long caught the eye of other top clubs, and quite why a move has never come about is something of a mystery, despite being linked with Manchester United seemingly every summer.

And, this summer, with the Red Devils in desperate need of midfield additions, his name has once again been thrown into the ring as a potential target for incoming manager Erik ten Hag.

But, speaking to TutoJuve, Mateja Kezman, agent of Milinkovic Savic, has once more rubbished the links with Old Trafford.

He told the site ‘It’s great fake news. I have never given interviews in the last month, some journalists are really incredible! I’m very angry, it is a lack of respect towards me, towards Sergej and Lazio.’

Who else could United target?

The two most obvious avenues for additions at Manchester United this summer are through either the Eredivisie or through RB Leipzig, where both ten Hag and Rangnick have contacts respectively.

The likes of Amadou Haidara, Konrad Laimer and Orkun Kucku are all likely to be linked with moves to Manchester this summer therefore, while the dream of Frenkie De Jong seems to be just that at present.

Meanwhile, England duo Declan Rice and Kalvin Phillips are also thought to be on their radars.

While it is clear that United need midfield additions, it remains unclear just who the identity of those incomings will be.
