“I am pleased to have extended my contract with FC Nantes,” Simon told www.ckdmedia.ng

“I had several offers that came my way, I considered my future and I decided to extend my contract with FC Nantes.

“I am glad, I’m going to continue in a club that is like home to me, hopefully, I can win a major tournament with the team again, having won the French Cup with the team, it’s quite memorable.

“We did it in Grand style and I think staying back here is just like winning a fortune.”

When asked about the Africa Cup of Nations, Simon said: “Truly, AFCON is close.”

“Presently I’m still with my club, when we resume officially, in Dubai for AFCON, all focus and attention will be on the National Team, and we will see how it goes.”

Simon is in his fifth season with Nantes after joining the team ahead of the 2019/2020 season.

He previously played for Gent and Levante UD before switching to FC Nantes.
