Fifa World Cup: Sunday Oliseh hails Kylian Mbappe’s ‘class act’ performance in Qatar
By Wale Mustapha
Former Nigeria head coach, Sunday Oliseh has hailed France striker, Kylian Mbappe for his outstanding performances at the ongoing 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
Mbappe has been the standout performer at the 22nd edition of the Mundial and the first to be held in the Arab world and Muslim world. The 23 year old was instrumental for France to win their second world title in Russia four years ago and he is back at the forefront of Les Bleus’ charge to retain the trophy in Qatar.
Mbappe is already leading the scorers’ chart with  five goals in Qatar, two more than any other player in the tournament and the 1994 Afcon winner has been impressed with the fine display of the 23-year-old, describing the  the Frenchman a ‘genius’ and a world apart from his contemporaries.
“Mbappe! Mbappe!! Mbappe!!! Watching this Genius turn on the flame on Poland here in Qatar. He is simply absolute. A class act!,” Oliseh who is in Qatar as a member of FIFA Technical Study group wrote on his Twitter.

Mbappe scored twice and Olivier Giroud scored a landmark goal as France powered to a convincing 3-1 win over Poland in their Round of 16 fixture on Sunday.
Having scored four goals in 2018, Mbappe is now on nine World Cup goals, as many goals as Argentine legend Lionel Messi and one more than Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo.
Both Mbappe and Giroud will need to turn on their A-game when France tackle England in the quarterfinal of the World Cup. The Three Lions defeated Senegal in their first knockout round match to reach the final eight stage.
