Former Nigeria youth international Flourish Sabastine scored her first-ever goal for Turkish women’s top-flight side, Galatasaray, during their 1-1 draw with Trabzonspor on Sunday.

The former Stade de Reims player opened scoring for the host in the third minute of play.

10 minutes into the second half, Fatlinda Ramaj restored parity for the travelers ensuring that both sides share spoils.

Sabastine was a key player of Bayelsa Queens in the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership before moving to France where she featured for Reims.

She also represented Nigeria at U-20 level, especially at the 2022 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup.

Galatasaray, which is the Turkish Super Lig women’s defending champions, is not having their title defense on a good note.

The team currently occupy the sixth position on the log with 30 points after 16 games.

They are 12 points behind leaders, Fenerbahce and also fall short of teams like Fomget GSK, ALG Spor, Besiktas, and Trabzonspor.

On February 15, 2025, Galatasaray will face Bornova in their next league match.
