Flying Eagles defeat Australia in final warm-up ahead of FIFA U-20 World Cup

Nigeria’s U-20 men’s national team rounded off their preparations for the upcoming FIFA U-20 World Cup with an impressive 3-1 victory over Australia in a behind-closed-doors friendly.

Goals from Tahir Maigana, Achihi Oseer, and Charles Agada secured the win.

Coach Aliyu Zubairu’s side displayed attacking depth, tactical balance, and sharpness ahead of the global tournament.

The result provides a confidence boost for the seven-time African champions as they fine-tune their strategies for the competition.

The Flying Eagles will kick off their World Cup campaign against Norway on 29 September 2025 (11 pm Nigeria Time).

They will also face Saudi Arabia on 3 October 2025 (12 am Nigeria Time).

Flying Eagles will conclude the group stage against Colombia on 6 October 2025 (12am Nigeria Time).
