Flying Eagles to play four group games at maiden WAFU-A & B tournament

Nigeria’s U-20 national team entered into two different draws after their know their opponents for the 2025 FIFA U-20 World Cup on Thursday.

On Friday, they were drawn in Group B of the WAFU-A & B U-20 Boys Cup set to take place in Ghana.

The Flying Eagles are up against Burkina Faso, Guinea, Niger Republic, and Mali.

This means that Zubairu Aliyu’s side will play four group games in Ghana while teams in other groups.

13 teams from the two West Africa Zones entered the draw which took place in Abidjan, Cote D’Ivoire capital.

Host, Ghana will meet Togo, Gambia, and Liberia in Group A.

Group C houses Senegal, Sierra Leone, Cote D’Ivoire, and Benin Republic.

The tournament is the maiden edition which sees the countries from the two WAFU regions face off for the title.
