Gbenga Ogunbote tenders apology to 3SC fans over NPFL Super Six miss

Head coach of Shooting Stars, Gbenga Ogunbote has tendered his apology to the fans of the club for failing to qualify for the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Super Six this season.
Five months after lifting the 100m preseason title, 3SC finished the regular season with 23 points from 18 matches, thereby, seeing them missed out from the coveted Super Six tournament.
Ogunbote admitted the team didn’t live up to expectations despite the support it got from the supporters, expressing his regret over his side’s failure to qualify for the title-chasing NPFL Super Six.
“The first thing is to apologize to the supporters because much was expected from us,” Ogunbote told Complete Sports.
“We seem to have it, but unfortunately, when the season started, we couldn’t replicate what we had in the pre season, due to some challenges in form of distractions, which did not allow the team to perform the way we expected.
“On behalf of the team, I want to apologize for that and I want to thank the Almighty God, that despite the fact that we were unable to realize our dreams, we were not struggling, four game to the end of the season, we had already avoided the drop, which was a plus for the team. It can always get better.”
The Oracle as fondly, called urged the club fans not to relent in their support for the team.
“I want to appreciate the teeming fans and all stakeholders for the support they gave us, for standing by us and for having confidence in us, we can always tell them that we can do better,” he further appealed
“I want to enjoin them to still have confidence in the team, God on our side, next season will be better.”
