Gyeongju’s Chinaza Uchendu makes Women’s World Cup statement with goal against Seoul

Nigeria midfielder, Chinaza Uchendu scored her second goal of the league campaign as Gyeongju recorded a 2-0 win over Seoul in for South Korean topflight encounter on Tuesday.
Before the encounter, Gyeongju had won previous games while Seoul has lost its previous seven matches in a row.
Inji Kim opened the scoring for the host in the 45th minute and Uchendu made it 2-0 three minutes from time to seal the win for Gyeongju.
The goal was her second of the season after opening her account during her side’s 2-1 win against Incheon Hyundai.
She has previously played for Braga in Portugal and Linkopings in Sweden before switching to the South Korean league.
The win lifted Gyeongju to the fourth position on the table with 14 points after ten games, eight points behind leaders, Hwacheon.
Up next for Uchendu and her teammates is a clash with Changnyeong on May 16.
Uchendu is yet to be recalled to the Super Falcons’ fold after almost four years out ahead of the summer’s Women’s World Cup and is focusing on raising her form to boost her on-field chances.
