Hafiz Umar Ibrahim: Ojodu City starlet begins trial with Chelsea
By Monsurah Olatunji

Nigerian rising star, Hafiz Umar Ibrahim has embarked on a pivotal journey as he officially commences a two-week trial with Chelsea Football Club, setting his sights on a potential contract with the Premier League juggernauts.
The 18-year-old caught the attention of many clubs in Europe after scoring 10 goals in six matches at the 74th edition of the Viareggio Cup in Italy last month.
However, he opted to trial at Premier League side Chelsea despite a €500,000 agreement between Lagos-based Ojudu City Academy and Norwegian club Bodø/Glimt.
Hafiz’s journey to Chelsea was facilitated by none other than Raheem Sterling who personally reached out to the Nigerian striker via video call in February.
Umar had travelled to Bodø/Glimt to sign for the club, but a last-minute approach from Chelsea convinced the player to have a change of heart.
The young talent is determined to make a lasting impression on the Chelsea coaching staff who will decide on his future in April.
As the two-week trial unfolds, all eyes will be on Hafiz Umar Ibrahim showcasing his skills, dedication, and potential to thrive at the highest level of the game
