Hassan Muhammad upbeat about Kebbi Fishers BSC title recovery

Hassan Muhammad of Kebbi Fishers BSC has expressed strong confidence in his team’s readiness ahead of the 2026 Nigeria Beach Soccer League (NBSL) First Round in Kebbi State.

Speaking before the new season kicks off, the experienced player stated that the team is fully prepared—both physically and mentally—to compete for the title.

“We are prepared and ready to give all that we have and try to win every game and bring the trophy back home, Insha Allah, to Kebbi,” he told www.beachsoccer.ng

“Beach soccer is not like regular football where you can predict results before kickoff.”

Muhammad acknowledged the unpredictable nature of beach soccer, noting that form can vary from game to game. He reflected on last season’s final defeat to Anambra Beach Soccer Warriors, where Kebbi Fishers fell short on penalties.

“We planned to win every game, including the final, but you can’t win all the time. Unfortunately, the game ended in penalties and they took their chance.”

Despite that setback, Kebbi Fishers remain one of the most dominant teams in the league, having won titles in 2021, 2023, and 2024. Muhammad insists the team is determined to reclaim the crown.

“Irrespective of that, it will not stop us. We have been in camp for the past two weeks preparing to ensure we start strong and get victories from the first round.”

He also highlighted the growing competitiveness of the NBSL, praising Anambra’s triumph as a positive sign for the league’s development.

“Even though we are one of the top teams, it doesn’t guarantee winning every title. Anambra winning the trophy is a big motivation for the league. It shows improvement and growth.”

With preparations in full swing and confidence high, Kebbi Fishers will be aiming to make a strong statement as the new NBSL season gets underway.

The last time Kebbi Fishers BSC lost the title to Kada BSC in 2022, they won back-to-back titles in 2023 and 2024.
