How visa hitches halt Nottingham Forest duo from preseason tour in Spain

By Monsurah Olatunji

Nigeria international duo of Taiwo Awoniyi and Emmanuel Dennis are unable to travel to Spain for preseason tour with their Nottingham Forest teammates due to visa issues.

Despite his standout season with the reds, scoring important goals that guaranteed their Premier League survival, Awoniyi is stalked in England owing to the complex procedures of Schengen visa for the summer holidays.

The two Nigerians joined the Tricky Trees last summer but are eagerly await their arrival in Spain for the pre-season camp.

The team is attempting to find a solution as soon as possible, and manager Steve Cooper is expecting to have the players available for the club’s upcoming preseason matchup against Levante on Saturday.

According to The Athletic, Nigerians need a slightly different piece of paperwork in order to enter Spain, which may help to explain why their visa applications are taking longer than expected.
