Honorable Gbenga Elegbeleye, the chairman of Interim Management Committee has reassured clubs participating in the 2022/2023 Nigeria Premier Football League Super Six of providing an equal level playing ground for all.

In a statement on Thursday, Honorable Elegbeleye confirmed the adjustment of remaining Matchday 18 fixtures to conclude the regular season, with notice that all matches in both Groups A and B will now be decided on May 21.

According to the IMC boss, the decision is to allow remaining outstanding games involving Rivers United, Sunshine Stars and Doma United be concluded before the final games.

“The season ending Super 6 will hold in Lagos and we don’t want any Group to enjoy the advantage of extended rest period after playing their last group games,” Elegbeleye said in the statement.

“The Matchday 18 fixtures in both Groups will have to be played on the same date and that would be after Rivers United have completed their outstanding matches by Thursday, May 18.”

After playing 1-1 against Wikki Tourists of Bauchi on Thursday, Rivers United will next host Sunshine Stars on Monday before entertaining Doma United on Thursday, both at the Adokiye Amiesimeka Stadium in Port Harcourt.
