Kanu Nwankwo shares Arsenal crucial to-do needs for title glory return

By Monsurah Olatunji

Former Arsenal star Kanu ‘Papilo” Nwankwo believes the Gunners can get back to trophy ways if they work on their confidence in the English Premier League.
The former Nigerian forward certainly wants to see glory return to the Emirates following their second-spot finish last season.
Kanu joined Arsenal from midway through the 1998/99 season and had already lifted three major honors for the club heading into the Invincibles season.
The former African Footballer of the Year won two Premier League titles and two FA Cups with the Gunners, and the 2000 Community Shield.
He ended his Gunners career with 44 goals from 198 appearances in all competitions.
Despite Arsenal’s recent poor form and trophyless regime, the Nigerian is still a regular visitor to Emirates Stadium.
Speaking to Sky Sports, Kanu said: “When I’m in London, I still go to the stadium to watch Arsenal, because this is a great club and I am a part of it.
“They were close last year, but this year I want them to win trophies.
“However, you need to have the belief that you can do it. During my time at Arsenal, we had the confidence and belief in ourselves, and if this crop of players, who are playing fantastic football, can believe in themselves, they will win titles.”
