Lack of depth affected Kwara United’s poor NPFL campaign – Engr Ahmed Olaide

By Saheed Afolabi
A Kwara United supporter Engineer Ahmed Olaide has blamed lack of squad depth on the lacklustre campaign of the Afonja Warriors in the ongoing Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season.
The Ilorin based NPFL outfit escaped relegation by a whisker as they defeated Nasarawa United by 1-0 to guarantee their topflight safety in the Matchday 17 encounter.
The excited philanthropist said the victory of the club means a lot to the sport loving people of Kwara state after labouring hard to win, appealing that the technical crew be given adequate support ahead of the next season.
“The victory means a lot to all sports loving Kwarans. I am so excited that Kwara United eventually got the goal after they laboured hard in the first half,” Olaide was quoted by Owo Sports.
“The team is not really a bad side but If you look critically at the team, you will find out they lack the depth and it is affecting the team.
“I believe the technical crew knows what to do by the time they resume for the preseason and the need will be done to ensure the right legs are engaged.
“I appreciate God for showing Kwara United mercy in this crucial match against Nasarawa United.”
After battling to avoid the drop for major part of their campaign, the Harmony Warriors cemented their spot in the Nigerian topflight for yet another season.
Kwara United will face high flying Remo Stars in their last game of the season on the 14th of May.
