LaLiga: Christantus Uche features in Getafe’s narrow loss to Mallorca

By Saheed Afolabi

Nigeria international Christantus Uche played the full 90 minutes for Getafe in their 1-0 defeat to Real Mallorca on Saturday.

Uche, making his 18th appearance for Getafe this season, was unable to prevent the narrow loss despite his efforts.

Mallorca controlled much of the match, even though they were the away team. A significant opportunity came in the 32nd minute, but Mallorca’s shot went off target.

The only goal of the game came in the 53rd minute when Cyle Larin converted a penalty, stunning the home crowd and securing the victory for Mallorca.

Uche, who has scored one goal for Getafe this season, could not inspire a comeback for his side, as the Azulones (Deep Blue Ones) were left to rue missed opportunities.

The defeat leaves Getafe in 16th place on the LaLiga table, with 16 points from 18 matches, just one point above the relegation zone.

They will aim to bounce back when they face Granada in their next match on Friday, January 3rd, in the Copa del Rey.
