Leicester City Manager Claude Puel Provides Update on Iheanacho’s Injury, Hopes for Brighton Clash

Leicester City manager Claude Puel has addressed concerns over forward Kelechi Iheanacho’s injury, stating that while the Nigerian international has sustained a broken hand, he could still potentially feature in the club’s upcoming Premier League match against Brighton and Hove Albion this Saturday.
Iheanacho, who did not participate in the Super Eagles’ recent 2-0 defeat to Serbia, suffered the injury during international duty. However, he did play a crucial role in Nigeria’s 1-0 victory over Poland last Friday.
During a press conference on Thursday, Puel assured reporters that the majority of his squad was in good health, except for Iheanacho and Matty James. He expressed optimism regarding Iheanacho’s possible involvement in the Brighton clash, stating, “We will see if Iheanacho can play with this injury. We will see tomorrow in the training session. He fell, but it’s not a severe injury. We will determine whether it will hinder his participation against Brighton.”
While Puel acknowledged that the injury was not significant, he emphasized the potential difficulties Iheanacho may encounter in playing with such an ailment. Nevertheless, the manager praised Jamie Vardy, who recently scored for England in their 1-1 draw against Italy, stating, “It’s always important for a striker to score a goal. If he can score for the national team, it’s good for our squad also.”
Looking ahead to the upcoming match against Brighton, Puel acknowledged the confidence and quality of their opponents. However, he expressed equal confidence in his own team, stating, “They are a team with confidence, but it is the same for us. They can play with freedom and quality.”
As the Leicester City squad prepares for their away fixture, fans eagerly await updates on Iheanacho’s condition and whether he will be able to contribute to the team’s pursuit of victory against Brighton and Hove Albion.
