Liga Portugal II: Ochowechi Oche scores in Fereinse defeat at Viseu
By Wale Mustapha
Nigerian midfielder, Ochowechi Oche scored his third goal of the season as his side, CD Feirense lost 2-1 at the Academico Viseu in the second tier division of Portuguese league.
The 21-year-old had previously played for Remo Stars and Rivers United in the Nigeria Premier Football League before he teamed up with the Portuguese club.
Oche was playing in his 29th league match for Feirense put his side back on level terms in the 35th minutes of first half after Andre Clovis had shot the host in front within seven minutes to the  match.
Both teams who looked more comfortable with their positions on the log, having missed out on promotion chase, went in search of happy ending to the season in second half but weren’t that clinical with their finishes.
It was the Viseu who needed the win the most as they pressed harder for it in the closing stages.
The pressure would then pay off for the hosts as they got the winning goal with the last touch of the match through Brazilian forward, Clovis for his 27th goal of the campaign.
With a game to end the season, Academico Viseu stayed on fourth position with 53 points while Feirense are now eight on the Liga Portugal II log with 43 points from 33 games.
Oche who joined Feirense from Plateau United in 2021 will have to try again next season to fight for a place in the Portuguese top-flight.
