Chelsea have finally completed the signing of Ecuadorian star Moises Caicedo, and they announced his incorporation with an Afrobeats track.
The Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder saw the drama of which club he would end up finally concluded after penning an eight-year deal that will keep him at Stamford Bridge until 2031.
Caicedo joined the Seagulls in 2021 from Independiente in Ecuador for €5 million before going on loan to Beerschot V.A. in his first season with Brighton.
However, in this overinflated transfer market, Chelsea cough out a £100 million upfront fee and agreed a £15 million as add-ons. The record breaking deal is little above Arsenal’s deal to get Declan Rice from West Ham. So, it is only right to have a similar unveiling.
Weeks ago, the internet went ablaze as the North London club unveiled the signing of the England international defensive midfielder with the eponymous Afrobeats track ‘Declan Rice’ by Nigerian artiste Odumodublvck.
Chelsea follows suit with the announcement of Caicedo with another Afrobeats track ‘Finesse’ by Nigerian singer, songwriter, and producer Pheelz featuring Bnxn (formerly known as BUJU).
Meanwhile, fans who are familiar with the lyrics have taken a line from the song, “If I broke na my business,” as a way of acknowledging the West London club affluence and lavish spending in the transfer window.
Finesse was released in 2022 to a huge reception, as it enjoyed popularity on Tiktok and Instagram Reels trends before its release date.
The track was one of the biggest songs of the past year and has been nominated for many awards and it currently has over 100 million streams on Spotify.
