Star Player of the Tournament, Chidi Harmony shared similar numbers and figures with legendary Ifeanyi Chiejine at the 2023 Ifeanyi Chiejine Memorial Cup at the Stephen Keshi Stadium, Asaba, Delta State.
Harmony hugged the headlines during the championship, with her superb performance at the maiden Soccer Queens Cup has continued to hit the headlines for the right reasons.
The forward singlehandedly lifted Imo Striker Queens to gain promotion from third third-tier Nigeria Women’s Football League (NWFL) Nationwide to the second-tier NWFL Championship with her goals.
The youngster scored a whooping 14 goals after six games at the 2023 Ifeanyi Chiejine Memorial Cup to secure the title for her team.
14 represents one of the jersey numbers worn by the Late Ifeanyi Chiejine during her playing days for club and country.
Apart from this, Harmony also wears jersey number 8, another jersey number adorned by Ifeanyi Chiejine during her playing days.
Chiejine only has two jersey numbers; 8 and 14 as Harmony achieved feats with the two numbers at the second edition of the Ifeanyi Chiejine Memorial Cup (ICMC).
She went spiritual after her impossible feats at the tournament where she won the highest goal scorer prize added to the most valuable player award she won at the same tournament in 2022.
“There is nothing much to the magic of scoring many goals but the grace of God,” She stated while speaking with media in Asaba.
“I always believe in myself and God that when I enter the field, no matter how hard it might be, I will conquer.” She concluded.
As Imo Striker aims to gain promotion to the top-flight NWFL Premiership, the goal-scoring acumen of Chidi Harmony Achifula will be pivotal to achieving such a feat.
