Manchester City wonderkid set to leave this summer amid first team demands

Manchester City goalkeeper Gavin Bazunu is set to demand a way out of the club this summer, either on loan or permanently, in search of first team football.
Currently at Portsmouth, Bazunu shot to prominence while on international duty, with the Republic of Ireland saving a penalty from Cristiano Ronaldo to deny him the international record. Unfortunately for the teenager, CR7 went on to break it anyway.

On the south-coast this season with League One side Portsmouth, the 20-year-old has kept 16 clean sheets in what has proved a successful loan spell, though he could not help them rise above midtable come the end of the campaign.
And, returning to the Etihad this summer, he clearly sees that he is unlikely to feature instead of current no.1 Ederson, and at his tender age would rather head out on loan than be stuck competing with current no.2 Zak Steffen for a spot on the bench in Manchester.
Where could he go?
As per the Times, both Southampton and Brighton are keen on adding the youngster to their side this summer. Brighton’s case is harder to pinpoint, with Robert Sanchez currently Spain’s no.1 shot stopper and performing well for the Seagulls, suggesting that should Bazunu move there it may again be as a backup.
At Southampton, though, there could be a chance. Fraser Forster is current no.1 for Ralph Hassenhutl’s side, but he is now 34 years old, perhaps paving the way for a younger charge to take over in the not too distant future.
Bazunu may also draw courage from the career paths of fellow young talents Tino Livramento and Armando Broja, both of whom have excelled in their first step up to senior football.
