Technical adviser Mbwas Mangut has reacted to Nasarawa United’s narrow 1-0 defeat to Kwara United in a Nigeria Premier Football League clash in Lagos.
The Solid Miners looked set to earn a point before a late penalty converted by Abdulsalam Abdulsalam handed Kwara United all three points.
Speaking after the match, Mangut expressed disappointment at the outcome, describing it as a painful result for his side.
“We are all pained by this result today,” he told the club’s media. “We had given this game our all from the blast of the whistle, only to be let down in the dying minutes. A draw was the worst we had envisaged, but sometimes you get hit by the cruel side of the round leather game.”
Despite the setback, the coach urged his players to remain focused and bounce back quickly.
Nasarawa United will now turn their attention to a crucial fixture against Kun Khalifat FC, with Mangut emphasizing the need for maximum points.
“Nevertheless, we have picked up our pieces. We remain resolute in our focus for our targets, and we will continue to fight till the last day of the league,” he added.
“Our next game is against Kun Khalifat. We have to console ourselves and our very loyal supporters by winning that game.”
