Mercy Idoko’s goal and assist lift Racing Power to big win over Ouriense

Nigerian footballer Mercy Idoko played a starring role for her Portuguese top-flight team, Racing Power, as they secured an emphatic 5-0 win against Ouriense on Sunday.
Idoko opened the scoring for Racing Power in the 16th minute of the match, breaking the deadlock and setting the tone for her team’s dominant performance.
The talented midfielder continued to make an impact on the game, providing an assist for Ines Goncalves, who found the net in the 38th minute to extend Racing Power’s lead.
Gerda Konst further increased Racing Power’s advantage just before halftime, converting a penalty in the additional minutes of the first half to make it 3-0.
Konst wasn’t done yet, as she added another goal from the penalty spot early in the second half, securing her brace and Racing Power’s fourth goal of the match.
Despite missing a penalty in the 79th minute, Racing Power maintained their attacking momentum, with Jenna Tivnan finding the back of the net in the dying moments of the second half to seal a comprehensive 5-0 victory.
Idoko’s outstanding performance saw her contribute significantly to Racing Power’s success, with three goals and three assists for her club so far this season.
Following Sunday’s win, Racing Power currently occupies the fourth position in the league table with 29 points from 14 games. With a game in hand, they have the opportunity to climb to third place depending on the outcome of two outstanding matches.
