Nigerian defender, Michele Alozie has won the NWSL Player of the Week after a heroic performance for Houston Dash last weekend.
The Super Falcons star scored two goals to help Dash to a 2-0 win at Gotham FC.
Despite Gotham FC’s dominance, Alozie converted two goals against the run of play to increase her tally to four after 15 games.
She battled it out with the likes of Trinity Rodman (Washington Spirit), Casey Krueger (Chicago Red Star), and Jaedyn Shaw (San Diego Wave) for the NWSL Player of the Week.
At the end of the voting proceedings via the NWSL X handle, Alozie emerged as the winner with 59% ahead of Rodman who had 23%
Krueger and Shaw both had 9% each.
Alozie’s next target will be to help her team pick one of six NWSL Playoff slots which will qualify the team for the season-ending title decider.
They will face Angel City FC and Orlando Pride in their last two games of the regular season.
