Mikel Obi Trades Studio Lights for Sidelines as He Cheers Twin Daughters to School Football Glory

Nigeria and Chelsea legend Mikel John Obi enjoyed a heartwarming “proud dad” moment as he swapped television studios for the touchline to support his twin daughters, Ava and Mia, at their school football competition.

The former Super Eagles captain was visibly delighted on the sidelines, watching closely as his daughters showcased their skills, teamwork, and passion for the game. His beaming smile said it all as the girls gave their best on the pitch, with their efforts rewarded by medals at the end of the competition.

For Mikel, it was a special reminder that football runs deep in the family. Having enjoyed a decorated career at club and international level, the midfield icon now finds joy in encouraging the next generation, not as a player or pundit, but as a supportive father.

The moment captured more than just football—it highlighted Mikel’s pride, humility, and the simple happiness of watching his children shine. From lifting major trophies to celebrating school medals, the Chelsea legend proved that some victories off the pitch mean just as much.
