Monimichelle to hand over upgraded Remo Stars Stadium to NPFL champions

By Dayo Awoniyi

Monimichelle Sports Facilities Construction Limited, one of Africa’s leading sports infrastructure companies, is set to officially hand over the newly refurbished Remo Stars Stadium to the NPFL club, Remo Stars FC, in Ikenne, Ogun State.

The Managing Director of Monimichelle, Ebi Egbe, confirmed that the construction of the stadium’s hybrid synthetic pitch, a key upgrade, is nearing completion. The project, which began four months ago, is now in its final stages and will soon be ready for official use.

Remo Stars temporarily relocated to the MKO Abiola Sports Arena in Abeokuta during the renovation to continue their participation in the CAF Champions League.

Egbe, in an interview with The Guardian, expressed the company’s commitment to providing high-quality sports facilities across Nigeria, emphasizing that Monimichelle does not compromise on standards.

“Our mission is to construct good pitches and football stadiums across the country. We don’t believe in cutting corners just to satisfy some people,” Egbe stated.

He also revealed that the next major project for Monimichelle is the Sardauna Memorial Community Stadium in Gusau, Zamfara State, continuing the company’s nationwide effort to enhance sports infrastructure.

Egbe further stressed that Monimichelle’s reputation for quality and integrity remains central to the company’s identity.

“We’ve built our name on quality and integrity. Every project we complete must meet international standards,” he affirmed.

The completion of the Remo Stars Stadium marks a significant milestone for both the club and Nigerian football infrastructure, as the team looks forward to utilizing the upgraded facility in their future NPFL campaigns.
