Montpellier manager Zakarian heaps praises on Akor Adams’ techniques

Montpellier head coach, Michel Der Zakarian has heaped praises on the club’s striker, Jerome Akor Adams on his superlative techniques and performances since joining the French team.

Akor teamed up with the French side in 2023 summer and has scored seven goals in 11 appearances this season.

Zakarian said he’s overwhelmed with what Akor’s form this season by creating chances and scoring goals, while talking up the goal poacher’s work rate and technical impact in the team.

“I’m surprised at what he’s doing. In a championship, which is not easy, he quickly adapted. Scoring goals and creating chances as he does, is very good,” Der Zakarian told Allez Paillade.

“He makes good sequences, decisions, technical gestures and he likes to work. I don’t know if it’s a crack but he scored 24 goals in 2023.

“He can still make much progress. With his size, he can do better in the air, both in timing and mobility.

“His hold-up play is impressive, and his consistency. He repeats high-intensity runs, It’s surprising.”

12th placed Montpellier will square up with Brest at the Stade de la Mosson on Sunday, November 26.
