Maryann Ezenagu inspired Zenit Saint Petersburg to back-t0-back Russian Supreme Women’s League title after a 2-1 victory over compatriot Francisca Ordega’s CSKA Moscow on Friday.

With both Nigerians in action in the penultimate game, Ezenagu’s side claimed the bragging rights, condemning Ordega’s CSKA to the runners-up spot for the second consecutive season.

After a goalless first half, Zenit broke the deadlock in the 63rd minute thanks to Ana Dias.

Tatiana Petrova reduced the deficit for CSKA but it couldn’t deny Zenit another league title.

After 27 games, Zenit with 41 points, three points ahead of CSKA to extend their dominance and retain the league diadem.

Ezenagu’s side also won the Russian Women’s Cup at the expense of CSKA Moscow earlier this year.
