New signing Nurudeen Aweroro vows to justify new Shooting Stars’ trust

By Wale Mustapha

Newly appointed Technical Adviser of Shooting Stars, Nurudeen Aweroro, has assured fans and stakeholders of the club that they will not regret entrusting him with the head coach role.

Aweroro was officially unveiled last week as the new manager of the Oluyole Warriors, succeeding veteran tactician Gbenga Ogunbote ahead of the 2025/26 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season.

His appointment, considered a bold move by the club, has stirred mixed reactions among supporters, given his relatively young coaching profile.

However, the former assistant coach has expressed confidence in his ability to lead the team to success.

“My backroom staff and I will give our best to the team, and I promise the club’s supporters that they will never regret the decision,” Aweroro said in an interview with Shooting Stars Media.

“We’re going to work in full synergy with the players. I want them to feel comfortable and assured that they are working with the right coach.”

Aweroro has already taken charge of pre-season training as the team prepares for the new NPFL campaign.
