NFF President, Gusau appreciates Sunday Dare for his laudable football achievements
By Saheed Afolabi
The NFF President, Ibrahim Gusau has appreciated the outgoing minister of Youth and Sports, Sunday Dare for his remarkable contribution to the development of football in Nigeria.
Minister of Youth and Sports, Dare will be leaving his post as the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari tenure officially comes to an end on May 29 as a new President will be sworn in.
And Gusau had showered praises on Dare for fulfilling the policies, programs he brought onboard as he’s achievements will linger on.
“First of all I just want to say something about his stewardship as the minister of sports for a period of four years, and you had it all from the president of the Nigeria Olympic committee,” Gusau told Pai media.
“He has outlined all his achievement, all the policies, all the programs he has brought into the system, some have started working, while the impact of others will be seen after he leaves,” quoted by Pai Media.
“The most unfortunate thing is that I came just a few months back and we just started, and God so kind we have started to understand ourselves and working very well together and unfortunately he is going to leave, we started working together and it has started paying.
“I must say he is a hardworking man, he tried his best, and we will continue to remember him.
“The only thing we can wish him is to wish him well, we wish him God’s protection, and God should even elevate him higher, but we will really miss him in the football industry.”
The Nigeria Football boss hopes the next minister of youth and sports would maintain Dare’s legacies and do better than him.
“We hope to have another minister that will continue with the legacy of Dare and even do more, so that tomorrow we can talk good about whoever is going to come,” he continued.
“So we hope anybody that is going to come in should at least maintain the legacies of Dare and even do more for us to talk about it.”
