Nigeria Football Federation celebrates Clemens Westerhof at 83

The Nigeria football Federation (NFF) has joined in celebration as one of Nigeria’s most outstanding coaches of all time Clemens Westerhof on his 83rd birthday.

Before his sojourn in Nigeria, Westerhof previously handed Feryenord, MVV, Vitesse and later shone for Zimbabwe where he met Lilian, a beautiful Zimbabwean model he married with whom he has two beautiful daughters.

Westerhof remains the best coach Nigeria ever had and guiding Nigeria no 5 ranking in FIFA World ratings – it highest ever, with Afcon bronze, silver and gold, capping them with first ever World Cup finals appearance.

The veteran tactician assembled the country’s squad to the USA ’94, the best Nigeria ever had. Many of his wards were in the team that won the Atlanta ’96 Olympic Gold medal.

Kanu Nwankwo, Taribo West and some were all dropped from the USA ’94 squad and Westerhof reminded that “you are all good but on this moment you wait for your time because I’ll come back for you.”

Born on 3rd May 1940 at Beeks Netherlands the Dutch football manager, has worked in various football positions on the African continent since 1989.
