Nigeria Football Federation must invest in grassroots football – Victor Apugo

Grassroots football is the future of Nigerian football, according to Victor Apugo.

The football administrator made this know during the final day of the 2022 Superstars Scouting tournament.

According to him, the Nigeria Football Federation must strive to invest more in grassroots in a conscious bid to improve the country’s fortunes in the beautiful game.

“First and foremost, I want to thank God for the successful completion of this year edition of the annual Superstars scouting tournament,” Apugo told Nigeriasportsnews.

”The scouting programme previous editions has no doubt been productive as it has helped Nigerian youths a great deal in their career pursuit”

“After last year’s edition, we were able to send almost (12) talented youngsters to Europe and America through the help of my partners and this year’s edition promises to be much more fruitful.

“Generally, it’s a great tournament and to help enhance and build on the tournament, the Nigeria Football Federation and other Federation in the state level should come in to encourage tournaments like this, to make it consistent as the results from past editions are visible.”

He went a step further attributing the Academy’s feats to the solid and professional way things are been done in the club.

He continued: “We give our players the best treatment and embed core necessary things needed for them to excel at the big stage and that’s the reason our graduates find it easy to adjusts perfectly wherever they find themselves.”
