Nigeria Women Football League Premiership Super get early kick-off date

The 2022/2023 Nigeria Women’s Football League (NWFL) Premiership Super Six which was expected to kick off on May 9, 2023, has now been shifted backward by the league organizers.
The Super Six will now kick off on Tuesday, June 6 in Asaba, the capital city of Delta State, and will end on June 11.
In a letter signed by the NWFL Chief Operating Officer (COO), Modupe Shabi, the reason for the rescheduled date due to meet up with the Confederation of African Football (CAF)’s deadline for the submission of Nigeria representatives for 2023 WAFU Zone B Qualifiers.
It will be the third time that the Super Six will be shifted after the initial date was changed due to a clash with the ongoing WAFU-B U-20 Women’s Cup where most of the players representing Nigeria are from the league.
Delta Queens, Bayelsa Queens, and Rivers Angels qualified from Group A, Edo Queens, FC Robo Queens, and Confluence Queens from Group B will qualify for the Super Six tournament.
The winner of the Nigerian League at the end of the Super Six will represent Nigeria at the WAFU-B Zonal Qualifiers for a chance to play in the third edition of the CAF Women’s Champions League.
Bayelsa Queens reached the semi final of the 2023 CAF Women’s Champions League in Morocco after winning the NWFL Premiership and WAFU-B titles.
