Nigeria’s Fisayo Dele-Bashiru sets ambitious goals at Lazio

Nigerian star midfielder Fisayo Dele-Bashiru, has revealed his aspirations after joining Italian giants Lazio on a year-long loan from Turkish side Hatayspor for the 2024/2025 season.
Expressing his excitement about the new journey in Italy, Dele-Bashiru shared his enthusiasm for the club, its fans, and the city of Rome. He explained that he had initially turned down Lazio’s advances in January to focus on completing the season with Hatayspor, but he had always envisioned joining the Biancocelesti.
“I am very excited to join Lazio. It is a big club, with incredible fans, in a big city. I can’t wait to start the season,” Dele-Bashiru said at his unveiling ceremony.
“The club first showed interest in me in January, but at that point, I was just focused on finishing the season with Hatayspor. Subconsciously, however, I already knew what I wanted and that this was the next destination.
“I hope to play as many games as possible, hoping to win some trophies and finish the season in the top four in the league table.”
Dele-Bashiru’s ambition to help Lazio secure a top-four finish and win trophies underscores his determination to make a significant impact in Serie A.
