Nigeria’s foes Guinea Bissau receives Presidential blessing for Afcon 2023

Guinea Bissau will be high in confidence ahead of the tournament after receiving a Presidential blessing ahead of their campaign at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Cote d’Ivoire on Wednesday.

Players of the Djurtus visited the country President, Umaro Sissoco Embalo at the Republic Palace amidst their training sessions for the competition and the President presented the team with the country’s national flag and charged them to represent the country well at Cote d’Ivoire 2023.

Guinea Bissau will trade tackles with host, Cote d’Ivoire in the opening game of AFCON 2023 on Jnaury 13, 2024.

This will be followed by clashes with Equatorial Guinea and Super Eagles.

Meanwhile, the camp of Guinea Bissau team is now full with the arrival of four more players to complete the 25 players roster invited by coach Baciro Cande.

The new arrivals that completed the team are midfielder Alfa Semedo and Moreto Cassama, defender Mancone Soriano Mane and forward Famana Quizera.

Djurtus continue to intensify training at the national stadium on September 24, to better prepare for their fourth appearance at the final stage of the African Nations Championship to be played in Cote d’Ivoire in 2024.
