Nigeria’s Obinna Nwobodo inspires Cincinnati to end Lionel Messi’s Inter Miami season

Former Enugu Rangers’ attacking midfielder, Obinna Nwobodo performed brilliantly to help his Major League Soccer, MLS side, Cincinnati defeated Inter Miami in the race to secure playoffs spot.
The pulsating encounter decided at the DRV PNK Stadium in the early hours of Sunday saw Nwobodo and his team mates stiffened their defense to ward off any potential attacks.
The first half ended goaless with Nwobodo getting booked for a cynical challenge.
Messi, who has been absent due to injury was passed fit and introduced in the second half but could not performed any magic to break the defense of Cincinnati.
The visitors would soon cause more harm on Miami with a goal from Alvaro Barrel just 12 minutes to see out the match.
Cincinnati put up a strong defensive performance to secure the victory for the away fans and as well handed Messi his first defeat as an Inter Miami player just as it ended Miami’s hopes of making the MLS playoffs.
