NPFL: Bendel Insurance management not in rush to appoint new technical adviser

By Wale Mustapha

The management of Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) side, Insurance FC, has emphasized that they are not in a rush to appoint a new technical head for the club, following the resignation of Monday Odigie about a week ago.

The Benin Arsenals are currently without a substantive Technical Adviser, with assistant coach Greg Ikhenoba taking charge of the team on an interim basis.

Charles Ihimekpen, the club’s secretary, has stated that the appointment of a new coach is not an immediate priority for the club.

He urged caution, citing the ongoing transition within the state government as a key factor in their decision-making process.

“We’ve not told anyone that we’re looking for a new coach,” Ihimekpen explained in an interview with CompleteSports.

“This is a government club, and you know there’s a new government now in the state, so we are focusing on other important matters rather than that.”

Insurance FC will face Nasarawa United in a Matchday 14 fixture at the Lafia City Stadium on Wednesday, as Ikhenoba continues to lead the team in the interim.

The club’s management remains committed to ensuring the right decisions are made at the right time.
