NPFL: Chukwudi Nwaodu hails Rangers teammates in comeback win over Kano Pillars

Two-goal hero and captain of Enugu Rangers, Chukwudi Nwaodu has lauded his colleagues for their spirited performances in the 4-1 comeback win over Kano Pillars in a Nigeria Premier Football League encounter.

The Flying Antelopes rallied to secured the win that sent them to top of the log after a nervy start of the encounter played at the Awka City Stadium in Anambra State.

A brace from Nwaodu and the other from Godwin Obaje and Isaac Saviour canceled out an early goal from Muhammad Yakubu for Pillars who were led to the match by former Rangers’ gaffer, Abdu Maikaba.

Nwaodu who described the victory as special said the young team still has more room to develop just as he assured of more positive outings.

“It was a great win for us and we played against a big side in Kano Pillars,” Nwaodu told club’s media.

“I am very happy for the goals I scored today and even much happier for the victory for our club, Rangers especially coming from a goal down to equalize and having the goals rush in the second half.

“At 0-1, I was positive that we would emerge victorious due largely to the fact that we had a team with young players filled with running energy. We push on for better results.”

With the win, Rangers now occupy the top spot of NPFL log with ten points from five matches, scoring ten goals and conceding six.

Rangers will next trade tackles with Lobi Stars in their next league fixture slated for Thursday, November 2, 2023, at the Lafia Township Stadium, Nasarawa State.
