NPFL: Daniel Amokachi resigns as Lobi Stars coach

By Wale Mustapha

Former Nigerian striker Daniel Amokachi has resigned from his position as Technical Adviser of struggling Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) side, Lobi Stars.

Amokachi submitted his resignation on Monday, following another disappointing result, a 1-1 draw against Katsina United on Sunday.

The result leaves Lobi Stars at the bottom of the NPFL table, continuing their poor run of form.

Amokachi had taken over as head coach at the start of the current campaign, replacing Eugene Agagbe.

However, despite his efforts, the team has failed to find consistency, and the frustration with the team’s performances ultimately led to his departure.

Assistant coach Tar Akombo will step in as interim head coach for Lobi Stars’ upcoming Matchday 25 clash against Shooting Stars in Ibadan on Wednesday.

The club’s management is expected to appoint a new coach next week to steer the team out of their current predicament.
