NWFL Premiership: Christopher Danjuma upbeat ahead of Nasarawa Amazons clash with Heartland Queens

By Oyediji Oluwaseun Babatunde

The head coach of Nasarawa Amazons is confident that the Solid Babes can overcome Heartland Queens when both sides meet in Matchday six of the 2024/25 Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership on Wednesday.

With nine points from five available 15 points, the Lafia-based side will be high in confidence to return to winning ways after a 2-0 loss to holders Edo Queens last week.

Heartland Queens only have two points after five games so far but Danjuma is wary of their threats.

“Heartland Queens may be struggling on the log, but that doesn’t mean they are not a good side,” He said.

“Teams at the bottom can be harder to play. We will approach the game with the same intensity as if we were playing the champions.”

The coach of the national U-20 women’s national team is also assured of huge support from home fans which will help the team get their fourth victory of the campaign.

“Our home support psychologically will boost our players as we are sure of the three points. I believe the Nasarawa Amazons fans will give us maximum support as always.”

The last meeting between both sides at the Super Six ended in a 0-0 draw in Yenegoa, Bayelsa State capital.
