NPFL: Daniel Ogunmodede backs Remo Stars to finish title quest in style

By Wale Mustapha

Remo Stars Head Coach, Daniel Ogunmodede, has urged his players to remain focused as they edge closer to securing their first-ever Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) title.

Following a narrow 1-0 victory over Shooting Stars in Ibadan on Sunday, the Sky Blue Stars are just a few matches away from clinching the 2024/2025 NPFL crown.

However, Ogunmodede emphasized that the team must not be distracted by the growing wave of congratulatory messages.

“We are not carried away with congratulatory messages. We will keep fighting in our last four games,” Ogunmodede said during his post-match briefing.

The coach also reflected on the club’s past near-misses and the determination to go all the way this time.

“We’ve been runners-up for some time now. We don’t want to be nearly again—we want to be the champions of the NPFL,” he stated.

Ogunmodede also expressed disappointment over the absence of fans at the stadium, describing them as “the icing on the cake.”

Remo Stars will host Niger Tornadoes in their next fixture as they continue their push for a historic league triumph.
