Kennedy Boboye confident Akwa United will avoid NPFL relegation

By Dayo Awoniyi

Akwa United head coach Kennedy Boboye has expressed confidence that his team will survive relegation as the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) season nears its conclusion.

The Promise Keepers currently sit in 18th place on the league table, with 38 points from 34 matches—having recorded 10 wins, eight draws, and 16 losses.

Despite the club’s precarious standing, Boboye remains upbeat about their chances of staying up, citing recent favorable results and the struggles of other teams in the relegation zone.

“We’ll keep working hard to beat the drop,” Boboye said following Akwa United’s crucial win over Nasarawa United.

“Fortunately, some of our key rivals have dropped points, giving us a chance to make the most of our home games.”

With four matches left in the season, every point will be vital as Akwa United battles to retain their top-flight status.
