NPFL: Destiny Abuchi vows Kano Pillars will return stronger next season

By Wale Mustapha

Kano Pillars goalkeeper Destiny Abuchi has assured fans that the club will be more formidable in the 2025/2026 season as they aim to challenge for honors and restore their title-winning tradition.

Despite a challenging 2024/2025 campaign, which saw them eliminated in the Round of 32 of the President Federation Cup and failing to mount a serious challenge for the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) title, the Pyramid Boys finished in seventh place with 50 points from 35 matches.

Under coach Usman Abdallah, Kano Pillars recorded 14 wins, eight draws, and 13 losses. Reflecting on the season, Abuchi admitted it fell short of expectations but praised his teammates for their hard work throughout.

“I want to assure our fans that we are coming back stronger next season,” Abuchi told Nigerian Players Gallery.

“Winning is Kano Pillars’ tradition, and we are committed to bringing that tradition back.”

The goalkeeper also took the opportunity to thank his teammates, particularly Super Eagles captain Ahmed Musa, for his leadership and support both on and off the pitch.

Kano Pillars will next face Katsina United in a Matchday 36 fixture, as they look to finish the season on a high.
