NPFL: Evans Ogbonda signs two-year extension with Enugu Rangers

By Wale Mustapha

Enugu Rangers have confirmed that midfielder Evans Ogbonda has signed a new two-year contract with the club, extending his stay through the 2026 season.

Ogbonda, who joined the Flying Antelopes from Bendel Insurance in 2024, played a key role in the club’s title-winning campaign in the 2023/24 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season.

The 28-year-old’s performances attracted interest from several NPFL clubs toward the end of last season, with his contract situation under close watch.

However, Rangers have now secured the services of one of their standout performers ahead of the new campaign.

The deal comes as a boost for head coach Fidelis Ilechukwu, as Rangers prepare to defend their league crown and compete for domestic cup honours in the 2024/25 season.
