NPFL: Fidelis Ilechukwu eyes decent result as Enugu Rangers visit Sporting Lagos

By Wale Mustapha

Enugu Rangers’ Technical Adviser, Fidelis Ilechukwu, is optimistic about a positive outcome as his side prepares to take on Sporting Lagos in their Matchday 34 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) encounter.

The Flying Antelopes, who are currently holding onto the top spot in the league with five games remaining, are aiming to consolidate their status on Sunday.

Ilechukwu has emphasized the importance of treating each remaining game like a cup final and has anticipated a tough match against Sporting Lagos, who are now under the guidance of new coach Abdul Biffo.

“We expect a good game from Sporting Lagos, but we are very positive about the outcome. We are not by any means underrating our opponent, as no team in the top league is a pushover,” Ilechukwu told Rangers’ media.

“We respect Sporting, especially under their new coach Biffo, whom I respect very much. However, we shall approach the match as a cup final, believing that our efforts on the pitch will give us the positive result we expect at the end of the encounter.”

The match is scheduled for 4 pm on Sunday at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Onikan, Lagos State.
