NPFL games as best tune-up for Caf Confederation Cup – Rivers United’s Dennis Ndasi

Rivers United’s defender, Dennis Ndasi has described his side’s engagement in the Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL as their best tune-up for the upcoming CAF Confederation Cup group stage outing.
The Pride of Rivers who started their title defence on a good note with four points from two games in their NPFL campaign followed by their opening day win over Lobi Stars before a recent 1-1 draw at Sunshine Stars.
Rivers United are sole surviving Nigerian representatives will begin their group stage campaign of the Confederation Cup next month, having been placed in group B alongside Motema Pembe, ASEC Mimosa and Noirs Diables.
And the Cameroonian, who was instrumental to Rivers getting point against the Owena Whales in Akure believes the enterprising league fixtures will put Rivers in good stead for the Confederation Cup.
‘I’m happy that the league has started, I think it will shape us very well for CAF games, official matches are different from friendly matches,” Ndazi told Nigeriafootball.com.
“So, I believe that the series of league games we are going to play will help us to start our CAF competition well.”
Rivers United will be taking on Niger Tornadoes in the Matchday Three of the NPFL in Port Harcourt on Sunday.
