NPFL: Hard work behind Plateau United rout, says Tornadoes’ Mohammed Magin

By Wale Mustapha

Niger Tornadoes head coach Mohammed Magin has credited his side’s emphatic 4–0 victory over Plateau United to the team’s hard work and focus in training, particularly in finishing.

The Ikon Allah Boys delivered a dominant performance in the NPFL Matchday 9 encounter at the Bako Kotangora Stadium in Minna on Sunday, sweeping aside their North Central rivals with a clinical attacking display.

Forward Abdulazeez Dalhatu was the star of the day, netting a hat-trick, while Abdulrasheed Shehu Dabai added the fourth to seal a memorable win for the hosts.

Speaking after the match, Magin expressed satisfaction with his team’s performance but stressed the importance of continuous improvement.

“We really worked hard for this win, especially on our finishing,” Magin told the club’s media.

“Even during our final shake-up in the morning before the game, we focused on scoring because if you want to win, you must score goals. The result is good, but as I always say, we will keep improving.”

The result sees Niger Tornadoes climb to fourth place on the NPFL table with 14 points from nine matches.

They will now turn their attention to a challenging Matchday 10 fixture against Kano Pillars, scheduled to take place at the Mohammed Dikko Stadium in Katsina.
